With these ever-changing times, it is becoming increasingly important for people to maintain their health and wellness — particularly when it comes to their sobriety. In these times, people are also looking for new and innovative ways to get and remain sober. One of the most unique forms of recovery that we got lucky enough to discover is created by Robert Alexander, Founder and Audio Alchemist of LifeRhythms.
Through his own struggles with obtaining sobriety and his love for music, he has combined the two to act as a form of healing for all his participants — it’s rare to hear that someone is an Audio Alchemist, how unique is that! And though a unique approach, he has found success for not just himself but, most importantly, for the people he engages with to conduct each session.
Soberocity [S]: We know that your form of therapy and recovery differs from many other approaches, could you tell us more?
Robert [R]: Absolutely! I offer private healing sessions that are catered to each person who I work with and design personalized pieces of healing music to help them further and expand the work that they are doing away from the sessions I offer them Everything is catered around where they are at in their life. I literally work with clients all over the world!
[S]: Did you ever think that you would be doing the work you’re currently doing?
[R]: Possibly! I knew that I was here to help people and also work with the power of music. Does that count? :)
[S]: Of course! So, how much has your life changed since you’ve decided to get and stay sober?
[R]: Big time! My wisdom has increased and so has the overall quality of my life – in so many ways! There’s more to share on this, however nothing else is coming to mind at the moment.
[S]: What does “sobriety” mean to you?
[R]: Sobriety is a commitment that one makes to oneself to refrain from substances and behaviors that are no longer aligned to serve ones wellbeing. By committing to oneself and choosing another ‘aligned’ path, one can find freedom in so many ways in their life, knowing that life can greatly can progress from their commitment to choose wisely and differently for their greater good.
[S]: What is the mission that your platform stands on?
[R]: Music, healing and transforming the human experience (for the better). Honestly, integrity and mind-altering substance free as well!
[S]: How difficult was it to finally stop listening to yourself and start listening to God?
[R]: It all depends on what area of life that we are talking about. Sometimes I am capable of hearing God faster than my own thoughts and feelings. Other times, it takes me a while. I do my best to be as open and willing as possible to receive divine guidance.
[S]: Are they any success stories that have truly impacted you? Could you share one?
[R]: Honestly… the only one that comes to mind at the moment is my own. I was laid off from working at a start-up branding agency in 2015. I felt that I was given the perfect opportunity to expand my own businesses… and from that point, I never looked back… I wouldn’t be where I am today without that “universal push”…
[S]: Over the years, what are some or one of the key things that you’ve discovered people need in order to have a successful recovery process?
[R]: Such a great question! A solid and reliable group of support (healers, close friends / colleagues / relatives, spiritual influences, etc), a desire to maintain forward movement, passions, inspiration and many other things that are essential to ones personal growth and evolution.
[S]: Is there anything you’d like to work on or anything/one you’d like to work with in the future?
[R]: If anything, I feel excited to expand upon what I am doing with my LifeRhythms business and Evlov (my label signed music project) – helping others with their healing, brilliance and forward movement. It’s a really important thing for me to help myself and bring others up with me!
