The dog days of summer are upon us! And I don’t know about you, but me and my cat Eve, are staying indoors as often as we can, with the occasional beach walk to shake things up.
This summer will bring some big changes to Soberocity as well. We are working on a relaunch of the website that addresses all of the issues our readers have had with it over the years. This site redesign will be more user friendly and will make it easier to see new blog and event posts. As well as to access our sober resources page.
We will be doing away with The Wall for something better, our brand new Facebook Group!!! Our Soberocity Facebook group has had some touching testimonials shared to it, and is a great place for you to meet other sober individuals and chat with them in Messenger (and coming in the future a Soberocity Discord). You can join the group now at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thesoberocity.
This new group will also be embedded into the new site, all you will need is to log into your Facebook account, and you can easily join the group. For anyone who is a current user for Soberocity, do not fear, you will still be subscribed to our newsletter on Mailchimp, and will receive updates on new posts, events, and updates from the site. You will also still be able to comment on the blog posts, your login will still work for you to login and comment on posts and events. Sign up for our eBlasts here: http://eepurl.com/dI4OCz.
And lastly, we have an amazing panel launching on Friday, July 23rd at 7pm EST. The Power of Music in Recovery is a virtual panel hosted by Soberocity to discuss the impact that music can have on your recovery journey. We will hear from musicians and music therapists alike as they discuss what role music played on their road to recovery.
Hosted by Sober Coach and Founder of Living Zero Proof, Jen Hirst, our panelists include: Founder of Rock to Recovery and Acclaimed Guitarist, Wes Geer, Kyle Pfeiffer, aka Blacklite District, We are Cloud Gang Founder and Front Man, B-RAiN, and Audio Alchemist and Founder of LifeRhythms, Robert Alexander.
Tickets are free: https://soberocity.ticketbud.com/music. We cannot wait for September to come, it will bring some exciting new panels, launching every Friday in September. And in August we will have an exciting wellness panel in honor of National Wellness Month. Let us know if you have any suggestions for features you would like on the revamped blog, by emailing me at Alexandra@Soberocity.com.
Until Next Month, XOXO,
