The Journey to Wholeness is a support group for people seeking to recover from any form of addiction. It is based on the 12-steps model.

About this Event

Saturdays, 6:00 – 7:30 PM

The Journey to Wholeness program was developed by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, along with our partners, in order to provide a safe environment for individuals recovering from addictions.  These “Recovery Groups” follow the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts as modified from Alcoholics Anonymous.

The Recovery Group offers the following:

• An atmosphere of Christian love and acceptance, where people meet on a weekly basis and become openly honest with each other
• A “safe place” where anonymity and confidentiality are respected
• An opportunity to share experiences, strengths, and hopes without “cross-talk” and judgmentalism
• Encouragement to earnestly seek God to do for them what they cannot do for themselves
• Most important, they are invited to recognize that Jesus Christ is the Highest Power
• Recovery and freedom from obsessive thoughts, compulsive actions, habitual behaviors, and spiritual separation
• Workbook material to aid you on your Journey to Wholeness

We invite you to join a Recovery Group if you can describe yourself as any of the following:

• I have a desire to stay clean and sober
• I hope to rise above the pain and turmoil engendered by the addiction of a loved one
• I wish to break the bondage of compulsive behavior
• I am clean and sober (required of all attendees)
• I have a family member or loved one who is suffering
• I am living with the struggles of emotional or mental health challenges, such as depression, bipolar, mood disorders, or ADHD
• I am powerless over people, situations, and things in the mental, physical, spiritual, and/or social areas of my life

Our recovery group meets on Saturdays at 6 PM at the Avon Park SDA Church, 1410 W. Avon Blvd., Avon Park, FL 33825.
